Imagine one teacher doing data entry on 1,000 students. Wouldn't it be better to have 1,000 students do the data entry for one teacher's approval?

1 Student Searches for Work-Based or Service Opportunities
In many schools, it is up to the student to find work, though significant help by the school is likely. Students can select opportunities posted on the GetNvolved® site.
2 Student Selects Opportunity
This notifies their teacher and the employer that they wish to work, ultimately creating a record which they can update with their progress. At the same time, the privacy of the students, teachers, schools, and employers are strictly controlled.
3 Student Submits Record
Immediately after the work or volunteer service is completed, the student submits the record to the employer with the click of the mouse. An email goes out automatically to the employer and a copy to their teacher. Teachers can see exactly where in the process the student is at.
4 Employer Approves Record
The employer or volunteer supervisor receives an email, allowing them to review the record. If everything looks good, they can add comments and certify the record.
5 School Credits the Student
The school sees the entire process from beginning to end. The record becomes a page in the student’s Work-Based Learning Portfolio and forms the basis for student and program evaluation. Records contain verified hours, comments by the employers, teachers, and the students.
6 Student Saves Their Portfolio
The student can print or email their verified portfolio of work experiences at any time and access it anywhere.
